Border Kei

WESSA Border Kei (WESSA BK) is based in East London with offices in the Nahoon Estuary Nature Reserve. The branch shares the provincial responsibilities with the EP office in Port Elizabeth. The Border Kei office has expanded considerably over the past 8 years, during which time Jimmy Calder sat as chair and Laura Conde-Aller as regional manager. The impact of WESSA includes projects along the length of the Wild Coast and inland to the Drakensberg Mountains and includes the larger cities of East London, Mdantsane, Mthatha, Bisho, King Williams Town, Queenstown and many smaller urban, peri urban and rural communities.

WESSA’s diverse project portfolio is evidence of its commitment to caring for the earth in a region that has numerous socio-environmental considerations. Sustainable livelihoods and education are high priority focus areas together with WESSA’s increased input into policy development for the region.
