A highly qualified law professor, advocate, consultant and writer, Tracy-Lynn has extensive academic, research, and administrative experience spanning over twenty-five years – including more than a decade in senior positions.

As a full-time Professor at University of the Witwatersrand’s law faculty, Tracy-Lynn occupies the Claude Leon Foundation Chair in Earth Justice and Stewardship.

She specialises in various legal fields, including climate change, water, environmental, mining, and human rights law. Tracy-Lynn has actively participated in multi-disciplinary research teams, and provided expertise through research and consulting contracts to notable organisations.

Tracy-Lynn’s creative thinking and integrity, coupled with her board and committee experience, have enabled her to create positive relationships with NGOs and academics globally. She has exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, and her legal credentials include admission as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, with enrolment in the Legal Practice Council.
